Citizens Police Academy

Ever wonder what goes on inside your police department? Get your questions answered at the next Citizens Police Academy class! 

This is a free 9-week course meeting every Wednesday evening at the Winter Garden Police Department training room from 6 to 9 p.m. The classes are instructed by Winter Garden police officers and staff who will discuss such topics as: 

• Crime prevention
• Criminal investigations
• Defensive tactics
• Drug identification
• Special operations
• Uniformed patrol
• Many other interesting topics

Class participants can also go on a ride-along with an officer and take a tour of the Orange County Jail.

Upcoming Citizens Police Academy Information

9 week sessions:

• March 1 – April 26, 2023  
  • Deadline to register is February 17
• August 2 – September 27, 2023
  • Deadline to register is July 21

Wednesdays 6 - 9 p.m.

To participate, you much be at least 18 years old, be a resident or work in the City of Winter Garden, and not have a criminal record.
